Zoe Tsiami works at the intersection of religious history and social history in the late antique and Byzantine Mediterranean. Her scholarship attends to the everyday textures of Christian life — persecution, memory-making, liturgy, and civic identity — from the age of the martyrs through the middle Byzantine centuries.
Maria Kanava is a scholar of Byzantine hagiography whose work centers on the literary and rhetorical construction of sanctity in the middle and late Byzantine periods. Her research traces how vitae of saints functioned as vehicles for theological argument, communal memory, and imperial legitimation.
John J Gallagher is a scholar of medieval textual analysis, specialising in the close reading, transmission and interpretation of medieval manuscripts. His work traces how texts were copied, edited and reimagined across generations, illuminating the intellectual worlds that preserved the classical and Christian heritage of the Mediterranean.
